I’m super excited to be cooking with Prego® Farmers’ Market delicious sauces!
I headed over to my local Walmart so I could make my super simple Chili Mac & Cheese with Prego® Farmers’ Market sauce.
Yes folks, that’s chili, mac, and lots of cheese that’s mixed with Prego® farm fresh sauce.
Prego® Farmers’ Market sauces are #PickedAtPeak of freshness and made with ingredients that I often find at my local farmers market!
Prego® Farmers’ Market brings amazing flavor from simple, farm fresh ingredients like vine-ripened tomatoes, garlic, and basil.
The fact that the ingredients are all picked at the peak of freshness and made the way I would with lots of olive oil, black pepper and oregano makes it the perfect sauce to enjoy with all my favorite Italian dishes.
What I enjoy about my Chili Mac & Cheese is that thanks to Prego® this dish goes together in a matter of minutes and is the perfect easy weeknight meal!
I am always looking for ways to create quick and simple meals and folks we have a winner here!
First, take fresh bell peppers and onions and saute them in a little olive oil.
You can even add fresh diced jalapenos to kick up the spice!
Normally I would add a little garlic next but because I decided to use Prego® Farmers’ Market Roasted Garlic sauce I omitted it.
Don’t forget to season your fresh veggie mixture with our spice blend that consists of chili powder, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and a few other of my favorite spices.
Next, after we saute our fresh veggies, it’s time to add our meat to the pot.
I chose to use ground turkey but ground beef or chicken would work as well.
Brown your meat until cooked through and add a small can of tomato paste to our meat/veggie mixture.
Lastly, we add our Prego® Farmers’ Market Roasted Garlic sauce, a little chicken broth and it’s time to put the Mac in our Chili Mac and Cheese!
Add about 2 cups of large, dried, elbow macaroni to the sauce mixture.
Make sure you use a big enough pot because we want to make sure you have room for all this goodness!
Throw in a can or two of your favorite beans and allow all this irresistible deliciousness to simmer for about 15 minutes.
It’s important that you taste the pasta to make sure it’s cooked all the way.
Once our pasta is all cooked it’s time for the grand finale!
The grand finale consist of topping off our tasty Chili Mac with lots of good cheese!
Yes, you can’t have Chili Mac without the Cheese!
Place the lid back on the pot to allow the cheese to melt.
Garnish with fresh green onions and it’s time to serve up a big bowl of our Chili Mac & Cheese deliciousness!
Remember adding fresh veggies such as green onions or chopped fresh parsley at the end of cooking really does enhance the final flavor of your dish!
I will say my house is packed with hungry teenagers and they devoured this meal!
I can’t wait to create numerous new meals using Prego® Farmers’ Market sauces!
